    Harmonica by Charlie McCoy, this album arranged by the same man

    Wonderful song written by Dan Penn and probably the definitive version sung by James Carr. One of the greatest voices to come from the south , born in Coahoma , Mississipi.  He recorded for the Goldwax label out of Memphis Tennesee. This was another of his marvellous choons....

    7.     Clarence Carter - Slippin' Around
    Dan Penn wrote with a fell called Chips Moman and they wrote Do Right Woman for Aretha when she recorded at Fame Studios with Jerry Wexler.
    Aretha recorded this cover version (that was released before the original) of Let It Be which was also covered by Clarence Carter on his Patches album.

    Later in his career Gene Clark tried to get the Byrds back together but they weren't having it ,so he got other musicians instead including Richard Manuel of The Band.  Levon Helm , born in Elaine , Arkansas was vocalist and drummer from The Band. this is him ( & them ) with the legendary Staple Singers.
